solidgone is David Gilbert’s technology home on the web. Here he shares his projects, things which he's learned recently, and his journal of technology related thoughts. He spent his formative years in Paddock Wood, Kent, and he holds a B.Sc. in Information Technology from Teesside University in the United Kingdom. He then left England, and went off to Kenya, to teach at Starehe Boys Center. He currently lives in the United States of America.

Why does he write about himself in the third person? Who knows.

Current Projects

I'm pretty active in the PmWiki community. Right now my primary focus is on:

  • BlogIt: A blogging engine based on PmWiki. It's what powers all my web sites.
  • Skins: Ported and developed a number of skins for the PmWiki platform, including those used on my web sites.

In addition, I'm part of the development team working in GetItNext, a better way to search eBay.

Solidgone started out life in January 2004 as an informal way for me to collate the random bits and pieces that I find as I browse the net. Gradually, it's transformed itself into becoming both a showcase site as well as a place for me to add my voice to the web.
